Do I require a credit card?
Yes you must provide a valid credit card/debit card in the main hirers name to hire a Rent Me vehicle. The credit card provider must also present his/her drivers licence for adequate identification. This is a policy stipulated by our Insurance Company to ensure that the hirer has a credit reference.
When do I pay for my rental?
Payment is to be made in full upon collection for the estimated charges based on the advised rental duration. This amount is ‘estimated’ only as rental periods, vehicles usage and optional extras; i.e tolls, extra kilometres may be altered during the course of the rental.
How can I pay?
Rent Me Trucks accepts most major credit cards, including Visa and MasterCard. You can also pay cash for the hire but all security bonds are required to be held on a credit card/visa debit card.

What is the cost of extra kilometres?
Extra km are between 28c – 38c dependant on the size of truck hire.
Where you can / cannot drive the vehicle?
You and the Authorised Driver must only use the vehicle on a road which is properly formed and constructed as a sealed, metalled or gravel road. You and the Authorised Driver must not, unless authorised in writing by Rent Me Truck Hire, drive or take the Vehicle:
What if I have to cancel a booking is there a fee?
Cancellation 48 hours or less of collection will attract a 50% of Gross Total Rental.
Is there a deposit required?
Yes a deposit of between $250 and $1000 depending on distance that the vehicle is travelling from our depot. IE: Local $250 – 500 Kms, $500 – 1000 Kms, $1000 for anything over 1000 kms.
Can I get the vehicle delivered?
We are not staffed to allow deliveries. But our site is safe and secure so you can leave your car here.
Can I use another person’s credit card to hire a vehicle?
Yes this can be arranged by contacting us.
Can I tow a trailer?
No vehicles at Rent Me Truck Hire are fitted with tow bars.
What age restrictions apply when hiring a Rent Me vehicle?
The minimum age to hire is 25. Maximum age to hire is 75.
Who can drive the vehicle and extra drivers?
You cannot drive unless your name is presented on the vehicle rental agreement, or you have advised Rent Me that an additional driver needs to be added to the rental agreement.
Do I need a special licence to drive Vehicles?
Our 3 tonne trucks are driveable with a standard car licence. MR licence is required for our Canter 4.5 and Fighter 6.0 vehicles.
How many kilometres per day am I permitted?
How many kilometres per day am I permitted?
Unless otherwise nominated, your kilometre allowance is an average of 200 km per day. IE: on a 7 day rental your allowance is 1400 km total.
How is additional time charged?
Most Rent Me Truck Hire rentals are based on a 23 hour time slot. A vehicle rented at 7.00am for a one day rental due back in our yard at 6.00am the following day. There is a 59 minute grace period. If the vehicle is returned within that 59 minute grace period there will not be any additional hourly rate. Beyond the 59 minute period, an hourly rate will apply until it equals the rate for an additional day. Charges for optional services such as Excess Reduction, etc. are charged as full days after the 59 minute grace period. If a vehicle is returned beyond the parameter associated with a specific rate code the rental may revert to a higher applicable rate.

Do the trucks come with free trolley, ropes and blankets?
No, we able to supply these for a small fee.
What type of fuel is used?
All vehicles are diesel.
Do I have to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel?
Yes, our trucks come with a full tank of fuel, we ask all customer to return the vehicle with a full tank as refuelling charges will apply.
How does the Insurance work?
All our trucks are covered by comprehensive insurance cover. We offer you a waiver to reduce your Damage Liability Fee. This reduction provides with peace of mind in the event of an accident and reduces your financial liability.
Is there an additional charge for more than one driver?
There are no surcharges for additional drivers over 25 years old.
What should I do if I have an accident?
In the case of an accident please contact the police on 000, then call Rent Me Truck Hire on 0418 776 690, if unanswered, please leave as message.
What happens if I break down? Do you provide roadside assistance?
Our trucks are covered by RACQ Roadside Assistance, but we do request you contact our office number first.
Can we rent a truck for local, long term or one way long distance move?
Yes, we provide affordable truck rental prices for local moves, long term rentals and one way prices.
Do I get a refund if I return the vehicle back early?
If you have booked a 5 day hire and return the vehicle after 4 days, Rent Me Truck Hire will endeavour to rent the vehicle for the 5th day. If we are successful we will refund the balance of the hire.
Am I covered in the event of a breakdown or the vehicle becomes disabled?
In the event of a Mechanical failure we will do all we can to assist you with a replacement vehicle. See Terms and Conditions clause 14.10.
However if a service provider i.e.: RACQ person is called out for a non- mechanical event i.e.: driver error issues, such as keys locked in the vehicle, flat battery due to headlights being left on or running out of diesel; a fee of $80.00 will be debited to your credit card.
Are vehicles equipped with a tail lift devise?
Most of our smaller trucks are equipped with a tail lift. Our large trucks are fitted with walk up ramps. NOTE: while we do supply a remote control to operate the tail lift – should the remote malfunction we would ask that you use the manual control and advise of the faulty remote on your return.
Where am I NOT permitted to drive the vehicle?
Prohibited regions
You must not, unless otherwise authorised in writing by the Company, operate the Vehicle on:
Kangaroo Island;
Bruny Island;
Moreton Island; or
Fraser Island; Into or out of the Northern Territory; Western Australia and Tasmania. You must not, unless otherwise authorised in writing by the Company, operate the Vehicle:
In Queensland
No further north than Mossman;
No further west than Richmond and or Winton
In South Australia
No further west than Ceduna
No further north than Port Augusta
